We use Agfa high-end scanners, which enable us to produce the best quality results from any original, at very competitive prices. Large artworks, pictures or paintings can be scanned in portions and then electronically stitched together to give a perfect finished reproduction.
We are also able to re-scan previous printed copies if the files have been lost, to give you files which can be re-produced at the high quality of original artwork. With our extensive knowledge of Photoshop we are able to colour correct, clean up, remove scratches and extend images to produce exceptional results from our scans or supplied images.
Saxon has an enviable reputation for colour matching of the highest standard. The investment in state of art professional scanning together with professional output equipment is almost unique in the UK. Each Printer uses up to 10 different colours in one pass to create subtle tonal values and the largest gamut achievable in print today.
We offer a scanning and retouching service that relies on traditional print reprographic knowledge and values. The final calibration process is tailored to the particular output specification and substrate criteria. Be it a “giclee” or “continuous tone simulation” or “half tone dot structure” all output processes are set up for consistent repeatability.
Because of the nature of interpretation of colour in artworks and photography, clients are encouraged to visit our studio and be part of any retouching process.
The perfect gift or centrepiece for any room, we can produce top quality canvas prints to your specifications and bring your special moments to life. Your pictures can be reproduced as per the original file or converted to black and white, sepia or any colour of your choice, we then wrap the canvas around the frame with either the image around the edge or with a coloured border.
Saxon can also turn your artwork into high quality fine art Giclée prints. Giclée is the name of the process of making fine art prints from a digital source using inkjet printing.
We successfully combine our expert skills in scanning, origination, retouching and proofing to produce the high quality print that is required for the finest Hahnemule materials. The Hahnemuhle Paper Mill has been producing artist paper for over 420 years and we have a fine selection available, from the Photo Rag (cotton white), to German Etch or Museum Etch, contact us for any paper requirements.
