IB Tauris – Atlas Scans

Revival of 134 year old Atlas

At Saxon we are asked to do many types of work and we were approached by IB Tauris to recreate the artwork of a book entitled the Ancient Geography Atlas. It was first published in Boston, USA in 1878 and is a large bound book containing over 100 pages of detailed, colour maps. There was only one copy left and the pages were in fairly good condition considering its age but the pages had yellowed and there was some pages with "ghosted" images on.

We had to carefully scan all the pages and white out the backgrounds, retouch ghosted pages and tidy up all the artwork where needed. The final print ready PDFs have made sure that this book can once again be printed and enjoyed by enthusiasts.
